2008-Cesar Alvarado

I’m Cesar Alvarado. I’m 12-years old, and…

I was in Ms. Hodge summer program and I learned that honest communication is being truthful about yourself and your position, whatever that position is. I learned about sportsmanship and that my attitude about sportsmanship is negative.  I gloat on sportsmanship and get all over excited when I win. I also learned that I get all hung up on being a kid when I have to do too much work. I like the fun part more than the work part.  My real action about being a kid is playing video games, watching movies, being bored, eating junk food, and doing something bad like sneaking out of the house sometimes and just doing stuff.

Ohh, and I forgot that I learned responsibility and self-control.  Responsibility makes you want to do good deeds and it helps you figure out choices. Ms. Hodge let us play “The Candy Game”, that teaches you about fair and not fair.  I learned that everyone loses sometimes, hands down. The game taught us about how you are responsible for how you think and controlling what you put in your mind. The most important thing I learned was perception because Ms. Hodge makes you use the dictionary a lot. I learned that perception dictates how you play the game and how you will react to other people playing the game.  It made me understand that even when you think something is not fair, others may think the same thing, so you can still be you without getting mad and wanting to fight or something.

2009-Katina Bener

I’m Katina Bener. I’m 12-years old, and…

Katina, unfortunately, left the program before the school year end because she was relocated to another district. Katina was in Love In Abundance for two years and attended an Engineering Summit for high school students during the summer before the 2009 school year prior to her leaving the program. She is a very bright student with a vast knowledge of self. Katina enjoys learning new things (most of the time), but she is not too fond of the dictionary.

We, the family of Love In Abundance, pray Katina every success and welcome her back if she is within a comparable proximity.

2010-Kayle Espinoza

I’m Kayle Espinoza. I’m 12-years old, and…

I, Kayle Espinoza, have experienced something in Love In Abundance that I have never experienced in Ms. Vickie’s classes. Love In Abundance is a good program for a girl to learn to express herself; to think twice about her future; and to know that she can stand out and say yes I can make a change in my life.

Love In Abundance is an organization that helps young girls become strong, confident, and worthy women. The thing Ms. Vickie made me realize that I didn’t really know is, no matter how hard it sounds and looks, you never have to stop trying. Love In Abundance is a good way for a girl to change her decisions about what she wants to become.  Life happens so fast because one day you’re playing hide and go seek and the next day you’re a young lady with a career. Ms. Vickie kept me going and made me believe in myself when I didn’t really know how to. She could have let me fail but she didn’t. She never gave up on me and that’s what has kept me going. Love In Abundance is actually the first program I have ever been in, and so far, is it has been great!

I used to be really shy and Ms. Vickie helped me to overcome it. Being in Love In Abundance with Ms. Vickie and my friends made me feel like I was with my family. I mean, even though we were in school, we learned to love and care about everybody in Love In Abundance with me. Ms. Vickie and my friends from Love In Abundance gave me a miracle, because I believe in myself and what I can do with my life, and my future. Ms. Vickie shows us that even though you have some things you want to do, you have to be willing to work a little harder to make your dreams work. Just remember never give up if you really want it. Keep trying.

2011-Abigail Varela

I’m Abigail “Gail” Varela. I’m 13-years old, and…

Love In Abundance is an amazing organization that helps young girls like myself become more confident, and helps us believe we have more of a chance to achieve our goals. Love In Abundance helps us set our goals and become set for the future we want.

Love In Abundance makes it easier for us to get the education we need and deserve, because Ms. Vickie shows us how to get the best of our education through those things we don’t like. Love In Abundance has made my life a little easier because knowing I have an organization like Love In Abundance behind me helps me to be better at being me.

I love all my friends in Love In Abundance because they have helped me get through a lot, and especially Ms. Vickie. She is an amazing teacher/person, and she makes you feel like she can be your best friend and that you can do anything. She is always so put together and on track that she makes me want to know more about my future, and what I want it to be.

Love In Abundance has given me the confidence to think more about who I want to be and what I want to do. I’m very proud to be in Love In Abundance because it is such an AMAZING organization that has helped me so much!

LIA YAC

LIA YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL

After having tested the feasibility of an empowerment vehicle able to incite the best in our students for the past two years, LIA wants to incorporate a Youth Advisory Council this year offering the following:

As a result of the problems in these Title One Community’s capacity to cross all cultural and age divides, Love In Abundance Peer on Peer Mentoring Program – LOVE Ladies, will work to change the generational limitations of expectation and behavior for a minimum of 300 families annually through each facilitator’s students via:

Partnering with sister schools provides convenience for families, an increase in regular community service activities with younger, like students, and empowers older students with empowering other students, which works to create an environment where dysfunction and disruption is severely reduced.

As lessons become regular activities, the incorporation into each student innate capabilities is enhanced. Parent participation increases the feasibility of like lessons changing the dynamics of entire generation.

MEMBERSHIP will be $10 Monthly

The formation of this Youth Advisory Council will place our little ladies in positions of authority where the expectation includes:

  • An adamant willingness to exhibit right leadership skills;
  • Be a part of the debate process for other services or things needed for like students; and
  • The creation of a city wide annual fundraising event for other students to evolve beyond current limitations through this membership based council.

Degrees of this counsel has been tested for the past two years, and we believe the Council is now ready to move forward with previously labeled at-risk young ladies taking the lead. A truth to consider when the desire is to inspire beyond the perception of current limitations is to evoke the ideology within each student that:

  • Knowledge and Insight + Opportunity = Prosperity.

This counsel will open the door for students to readily accept this ideology and change the dynamics of their future at the same time. The benefit of membership above regular participation as a student of Love In Abundance programs is the inclusion of the personal boundary activities as a benefit of being a member of the council. Non-member students of the Council will have to pay for each personal boundary expansion activity.

Savings Plans

LIA SAVINGS PLANS

Having a constantly updated financial plan adds to your life and provides personal clout to your life and future through the following:

  • Your self esteem and self efficacy will be heightened.
  • You will become more interested in advancing in education because of being able to connect how much you learn to how much you can earn.
  • You will become better at solving problems instead of creating problems because of the motivation to become an expert in your field instead of being a mere participant in your field.
  • You will be better equipped in interpersonal relationships, public speaking skills, and teamwork projects
  • You will become far more motivated about finding the absolute best career for yourself, and how to become the best in that career
  • You will be a better employee because of having a more in depth knowledge of money and its possibilities
  • You will want to know how to own your own business instead of being an employee of someone else’s business
  • You will want to control your own life through having the finances to do some of those things you used to only dream about
  • You may even give yourself permission to be educated in another country because of the benefits to your life and future, both now and in your future.

Now take a look at how easy saving money for your future can begin. The College Must Begin in 8th Grade Precollege Planner has the introduction to creating a financial plan offered through the NEFE Financial Plan for High School Students, so make sure you get one in the fall 2012.

The CMB8thGrade Precollege Planner offers scholarships for all three academic levels, six immediate financial bonuses throughout, and 25% of the net profits to Love In Abundance General Operating Fund. For now, check out LIA Savings Plans.
